Student Absences

Occasionally, a student may need to miss a lesson. As soon as you know you won’t make it, please notify the front team, or cancel it in TeacherZone. Starland does not offer makeups or reschedules for student absences.

That said, consistency is important, and we want to help ensure your progress! When you’re absent, the teacher will use your lesson time to create custom content for you to work on at home. We use a software called LessonMate. 

How It Works:

You will receive an email with login information and an introductory video when your teacher posts your first ever LessonMate. Every time a new one is posted, you will receive an email notification containing a link to your new LessonMate.

What if my teacher is absent at the same time?

If your instructor is absent on the same day you’re out, they will create a LessonMate for you at a later time. 

What About Group Classes?

If you are enrolled in the Yamaha program, and attend group classes, your instructor will likely still hold in-person group makeup classes. Check in with your instructor for more info.
